Information and advice for football fans travelling to the FIFA Confederations Cup tournament; Entry requirements section (Registration) - from 1 June to 12 July 2017, all foreign nationals (even those staying for under 7 working days) will have to register within 24 hours of arriving in one of the four Confederations Cup cities – Moscow, St Petersburg, Kazan and Sochi; this registration is normally done by your hotel or guest house, but it’s your responsibility to check that it’s been done; you should book your accommodation in advance and check that your hotel has registered your stay.

A series of demonstrations has taken place since October 2016 in northern Morocco, mainly around the town of Al Hoceima, but with other areas, including the cities of Tangier and Nador, also affected; there have been some reports of limited violence during these protests; as of 30 May 2017, the demonstrations are occurring on an almost daily basis; more demonstrations are planned and a heavy security presence remains in place.

On 31 May 2017 at least 80 people were killed and several hundred injured in a large car bomb attack in an area of Kabul close to many foreign embassies.

The Kenyan government introduced a curfew in Mandera County on 27 October 2016 for the hours 6:30pm to 6:30am; this was lifted on 26 May 2017 for the duration of the Holy Month of Ramadan; the security agencies have advised they will boost their operations in the area to provide support during this period.
