 Safety and security section (Local travel - Shan state) – since October 2016, intense armed clashes have broken out in areas of northern Shan state between various ethnic armed groups and the Myanmar Army; clashes have occurred in areas such as Muse, Kutkai, Namhsan, Manton and Laukkai townships.

Lebanon

On 10 March 2017, there were heavy clashes in the Palestinian Camp of Bourj al Barajneh in the southern suburbs of Beirut near the airport; although the situation has calmed and travel routes haven’t been affected, you should remain alert, monitor local media and follow the advice of the local security agencies.

There is a closure in place on the West Bank and Gaza from 11:59pm on 10 March until 11:59pm on 13 March during the Purim holiday; check with local authorities if you’re planning to travel in or out of the West Bank and Gaza during these times

Jordan

The Arab Summit will be held in Jordan from 29 to 30 March; the Dead Sea resort area (northern part of the Dead Sea) and the main highway next to Dead Sea hotels, will be closed to the public from 21 to 30 March; you should plan your journey accordingly

Fiji

Safety & security section (Water based activities) – there's only one hyperbaric (decompression) chamber in Fiji, located at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital in Suva, and it's only available intermittently; if you’re diving in Fiji do so conservatively and make sure you have travel and health insurance that includes coverage for diving and evacuation costs

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office no longer advise against travel to Lamu Island and Manda Island; if you travel to Lamu Island or Manda Island, you should do so by air to Manda airport and not by road
