We don’t know exactly when travel bans will be lifted, but we do know we want to be at the airport and off on an adventure the minute that happens.
Besides, all the extra time at home is an excellent opportunity to plan the trip of a lifetime to enjoy once we get through this!
So why not have a look at all the websites and deals you can find, be inspired by the amazing photos, and find the holiday of your dreams?
Sure, we’re all still wrapping our heads around self-isolation and the changes we need to make, but it won’t be forever. We Brits have been through tough times before and we can do this.
To give us something to look forward to, tour operators are coming up with some truly incredible deals for 2021. These are some of the lowest prices we’ve seen in years – and very possibly the lowest we’ll see ever again – but even these small purchases can make all the difference to travel agents and tour operators who have been hit so hard.
Protecting Your Booking
Of course, if you’re booking a holiday it’s important to purchase travel insurance at the same time – including cover for acts of terrorism, because unfortunately that’s unlikely to disappear. Similarly, the fact that we have to deal with coronavirus now doesn’t mean other potential hazards such as earthquakes, floods, or even lost luggage will no longer affect us.
If you buy your travel insurance policy when you book a trip, you’re covered all the way through to your departure and travel dates, and those terms and conditions are locked in. Most policies purchased now won’t cover coronavirus / Covid-19 and this is unlikely to change, but the vast majority of other cover is unaffected. And that’s a lot of cover!
Safe Journey cover applies to acts of terrorism that affect travel, but have a look at our sister site Onestop4.co.uk to see what’s available in comprehensive travel and cruise policies.
Saving on Travel Insurance: Insider insight
Our managing director, Kate Huet, notes that travel insurance prices now are likely to be the lowest we’ll ever see, as premiums will need to be revised due to the effects of the pandemic.
“We’ll all want to travel again once this is over – and we’ll want to do it quickly, cheaply and easily,” says Kate. “If you want to travel in 2021 but haven’t booked yet, the best bet is to take an Annual Worldwide Policy out now, and hope that within the next 12 months you get the chance to use it. It’s likely to be the cheapest policy you ever buy again.”
We hope you’ll find some fantastic adventures at bargain prices and would love to hear about your travel plans – and what’s keeping you inspired! Do get in touch to share your travel plans or if you have any questions.
Wishing you all a healthy and safe time at home,
The Safe Journey team
