Travel Safety Round-Up: 12/11/2018

As the holidays draw nearer, safety information is on everyone’s mind. Here are the latest updates from the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO).

Victoria Police have confirmed that they are treating an attack in Bourke Street, Melbourne, on 9 November as a terrorist incident; they are not aware of any ongoing threat, but you should stay vigilant and follow advice from Victoria Police.

There have been reports of a large number of school children and their teachers who have been kidnapped by armed separatists in Bamenda, North West of Cameroon on 5 November. The authorities are investigating this. There is likely to be an increased security presence in this area.

The majority of protests across the country which started on 30 October have now dispersed, and most travel routes have reopened. You should continue to plan your journeys carefully and avoid any demonstrations, large crowds of people and public events.
