Processions are likely to be organised in central Manama and in a number of other areas across Bahrain; while these events are expected to be peaceful, there’s a possibility they could be utilised by anti-government protestors, which could lead to clashes with the police.

From 10 to 14 November 2017, the 31st ASEAN summit will take place in Manila and in Clark, Pampanga (90km north west of Manila). There will be some disruption of road traffic and potential disruption to flights, as the majority of delegates will arrive by air; you should check with your travel provider and follow local advice before making a journey. There is also likely to be a higher security presence on the streets; you should remain vigilant and follow the instructions of local authorities.

The security situation in Juba remains tense following the President’s decision on 30 October 2017 to deploy a military and national security personnel presence to surround the residence of the former Chief of the Army staff; he has been under house arrest since May; the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) continues to advise against all travel to South Sudan.
